Suzuka truly is one of the legendary tracks on the F1 calendar. The drivers love not only its technicality, but its outright speed given its combination of snaking ‘S’ bends and stunning straights. Opened in 1962, it was the brainchild of Soichiro Honda, of Honda Motor Co and was initially designed as a Honda test track as he wanted to turn his company into a powerhouse. The circuit has famously got an overlapping, figure-of-eight design, and is the only one of its kind on the whole calendar.
