The numbers regarding the 2024 Carolina Panthers’ defense are disturbing indeed. Led by coordinator Ejiro Evero, the team allowed the most total yards per game in the league (404.5), and an NFL-high 179.8 yards per game on the ground. The club finished with a mere 32 sacks (tied for the third-fewest in the league) and only 17 takeaways. All told, the Panthers gave up an NFL single-season record 534 points. Carolina defenders allowed 59 offensive touchdowns—including an NFL-high 35 through the air.

In his first four seasons in the National Football League, Carolina Panthers’ defensive tackle Derrick Brown missed a total of one game. It was a Week 15 clash with the Buffalo Bills at Orchard Park that resulted in a 31-14 loss. In both 2022 and 2023, the seventh overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was a 17-game starter.

Noah Fant was the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

NFL.com’s Kevin Patra recently put together a piece regarding quarterbacks changing teams this offseason, and what their numbers could look like in 2025. Arguably the biggest move in free agency at the position this year was 2024 Minnesota Vikings’ Pro Bowler Sam Darnold leaving the Twin Cities and inking a three-year deal with Mike Macdonald’s Seattle Seahawks. This past season’s performance with the Purple Gang was career-changing.

It’s been a fascinating offseason for the Seattle Seahawks’ offense. There’s a new coordinator in Klint Kubiak, a new starting quarterback in 2024 Pro Bowler Sam Darnold (late of the Vikings), and new veteran wideouts in Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. In late April, general manager John Schneider selected 11 players in the NFL draft, nine on the offensive side of the ball. That included a pair of wide receivers in Tory Horton (5b-Colorado State) and Ricky White III (7c-UNLV).
