The parents of an autistic teenager who died from an accidental overdose say they had to investigate his death themselves to find out what killed him. Will Melbourne, 19, had mistakenly taken metanitazene, a strong synthetic opioid he bought on the dark web. But his family had to wait three years for his inquest and say they then had to follow a digital "trail of breadcrumbs" to find out how he died. Warrington Coroner's Service said it was not permitted to comment.

A former head teacher has spoken out after an autistic student, whose family had been pleading for support, died. Isaac Uzoegbu, 16, was hit by a car after he ran from his house into the road. His parents were struggling to manage as his behaviour became increasingly out of control. He is the third autistic boy BBC News has identified to die in the Kent and Medway area over the past three years. Medway Council said it had given prompt support to the family.

The Public Accounts Committee estimates that more than £1.7bn is sitting in accounts waiting to be accessed. It says "failure in long term planning" by HMRC means 42% of eligible 18-20 year olds have not drawn on their savings. A HMRC spokesperson said they had notified young people before their account matured.
