The commanding start to conference play rolled on for the Saint Mary’s Gaels (14–3, 4–0 West Coast Conference) on Tuesday night, in an 81–56 victory over the LMU Lions (9–8, 1–4 WCC) on Tuesday night at the UCU Pavilion. The Gaels never trailed, and they spent less than 90 seconds tied in an overall dominant performance. Saint Mary’s stellar defense was once again on display; they have now held each of their last three opponents under 60 points.

The Saint Mary’s Gaels (9–1) had never won in the Huntsman Center coming into Saturday night’s game in Salt Lake City, with their last win at the University of Utah’s home court coming in 1958. That changed this weekend, as the Gaels downed the Utes (6–2) in front of a raucous home crowd 72–63, avenging last season’s home loss to Utah.

A game that looked like it was all Gaels at the beginning turned into a hard fought victory in overtime for Saint Mary’s (8–1), as they defeated the UTSA Roadrunners (3–4) at the UCU Pavilion Tuesday night, 82–74. SMC trailed for just 30 seconds by 3–2 in the first half, but that didn't stop the Roadrunners from making things interesting.

The 2024 Acrisure Classic in Palm Desert came to an end on Friday night, with the Gaels (7–1) narrowly defeated by the Arizona State Sun Devils (7–1), 68–64. This back-and-forth heavyweight fight featured eight ties and nine lead changes, but Arizona State was able to take the lead with three minutes left and hung on to claim a four-point victory. Saint Mary’s came into the game having pummeled USC the night before, 71–36.
