Ball Arena was incredible yesterday. Denver Nuggets fans were treated to an awesome overtime performance by their favorite team, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 113-104 in a pivotal Game 3 performance. It’s those games that fans live for, the uncertainty and drama only to watch your team show up when it matters most and get the job done. Nikola Jokic had a poor game overall, but the Nuggets played well around him to stay in the game. The defense was tremendous, as was the clutch shotmaking.

The Denver Nuggets found a way to win in one of the loudest, best games I’ve ever attended at Ball Arena. They defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 113-104 in overtime to take a 2-1 series lead. Nikola Jokic had a horrible game, but it didn’t matter because his teammates picked him up in the best way. Jamal Murray led the way with 27 points, eight assists, four steals, and some clutch plays on both ends of the floor.

After a fantastic Game 1 win, the Denver Nuggets decided that was good enough in OKC, losing by a million to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2. As the series transitions back to Denver, we are about to find out how seriously the Nuggets can match up with the 68-win Thunder. Denver clearly caught them off guard in game 1 and OKC responded in kind. Which result was more indicative for the rest of the series? We will soon find out. Let’s talk basketball.

The Denver Nuggets didn’t handle themselves well in Game 2 and lost ugly to the Oklahoma City Thunder. How much it matters remains to be seen. Game 2 was a matchup the Nuggets could afford to lose as long as they bring it in Game 3. The Thunder applied immense to Denver throughout the game, and the Nuggets ultimately crumbled because of it. They were affected by the physicality and perceived disparity of the foul calls. Will that happen again against an elite team? We will see.

The Denver Nuggets lost Game 2 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in an aggressively futile effort 149-106. The 87 points the Thunder scored in the first half were tied for the most of any playoff team in NBA history. Denver’s defensive effort and execution simply weren’t present to the degree that they needed to be.

That last Jokic turnover, it’s why I didn’t really blame him for that one. It’s entirely Christian Braun. Russ reads Braun’s initial movement to make himself available. Then Braun drags Kawhi back into the play. He just has to space to the corner or the dunker. Did the worst
