FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Champagne was swilled and spilled, cigars were smoked and the Stanley Cup was hoisted a few more times, all with about 400,000 people watching. The Florida Panthers are getting pretty good at these parades. SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers repeated as Stanley Cup champions by beating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in Game 6 of the final on Tuesday night, becoming the NHL's first back-to-back winners since Tampa Bay in 2020 and '21 and the third team to do it this century. Sam Reinhart scored four goals, becoming just the fourth player in league history to get that many in a game in the final. The New York Rangers are in advanced contract talks to make former Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan the next head coach, sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan and Kevin Weekes on Thursday. The deal is expected to be one of the richest coaching contracts in NHL history, the sources said. Sullivan would head to New York in a move that is coming together three days after he left his job with Pittsburgh, where he coached for 10 seasons and won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.
