Whether it’s the base set, autographs, inserts or parallels, the sheer amount of cards may take a little to wrap one’s head around. But with that comes many opportunities for color and low-numbered chase cards. Available in several configurations, hobby and jumbo are among them. Standard hobby boxes have one autograph while jumbos carry three. It all starts with the base set.

2024 Panini Contenders Football takes one of the sport’s top modern brands and gives it the familiar chromium makeover. Designs are similar and so is the focus on autographs. But Optic’s differences go beyond the metal look. The configuration is more of a high-end one with just six cards per box, two of which are autographs. Like standard Contenders, the base set uses Season Ticket for its name. Keeping with tradition, the design follows a ticket motif.

2024-25 Panini National Treasures Basketball is where many of the season’s big guns reside. Not only are there lots of autographs and memorabilia cards (four of each per hobby box), but there’s also the tradition that comes with the National Treasures name. Rookie Patch Autographs remain one of the spotlight cornerstones. These typically rank as players’ top Rookie Cards thanks in large part due to their massive premium swatches, on-card signatures and relatively low numbering.

Drawing from film, fashion and other areas of the sport, the checklist is heavy on hits. Hobby boxes include four autographs, all of which are on-card. Three memorabilia cards are also in each box. Other elements include low-numbered parallels and short-print base cards that come with metal frames. The base set has a lot of sections and subsets.
