Tuxford horse museum opened in spare rooms marks 10 years

A museum dedicated to horses which started as a passion project in the spare rooms of a gallery will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary. Sally Mitchell opened the Museum of the Horse in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, after originally buying the building to create a gallery for her art. The artist, now 78, decided to dedicate empty space upstairs to her love of the animals. Today the museum holds hundreds of pieces of horse-related paraphernalia.
Bilsthorpe heritage museum fears closure over loss of home

A Nottinghamshire village charity has appealed for help in finding a new home, after its current premises were earmarked for demolition. Bilsthorpe's Heritage Museum is housed next to the old village hall on land which is set to be redeveloped. Volunteers for the museum, which is largely devoted to the local colliery, said it would be "disastrous" if the collection were broken up. The parish council said no similar space was available for such low rent.
Future of iconic Nottingham nightclub remains uncertain

A Nottingham nightclub could close after its owners called in administrators. The future of Pryzm, owned by Rekom, is uncertain, said its owners. The Lower Parliament Street building is described as "bare" inside, and there were reports of people moving stock out on Tuesday. The venue has operated under numerous names, including Oceana, Palais and Ritzy, during its near 100-year history. Rekom confirmed it plans to bring in administrators as it struggles with higher bills.
