A former general who oversaw the US Air Force’s fleet of tanker and transport aircraft is warning recent battlefield success in the Middle East against Iran may be creating a false sense of security. Mike Minihan, who retired from the USAF in 2024 as the head of Air Mobility Command (AMC), says the current build-up of US air power to backstop Israel’s ongoing campaign against Iran is being carried out with methods unlikely to be successful in the future.

Two UK military jets have been damaged on the ground in England after an apparent act of sabotage by pro-Palestinian activists. The incident, which has been confirmed by UK authorities, took place at RAF Brize Norton west of Oxford. The group Palestine Action has claimed responsibility, saying it targeted two of the A330 Voyagers operated by the Royal Air Force. Video posted by Palestine Action shows two individuals crossing the tarmac after dark using electric scooters.

American defence start-up Anduril will team with German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall to offer European variants of several Anduril weapons systems, including the company’s autonomous combat aircraft. Announcing the new partnership at the Paris air show, Anduril said the co-operation agreement will include two of its marquee products: the Fury uncrewed fighter jet and the Barracuda family low-cost cruise missiles.

Uncrewed aircraft manufacturer Kratos is officially confirming it will add landing gear to the company’s XQ-58 Valkyrie. Speaking in Paris on 15 April, the company’s president of turbine technology Stacey Rock revealed an unspecified US customer is pursuing a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) version of the Valkyrie, which currently does not feature wheeled landing gear.
