If you’re a fan of The Matrix, then seeing Will Smith’s latest posts on Instagram may have had you jumping with joy with the assumption that there’s a new film project in the works with the actor in a starring role. Now, new information about the project seems to have dashed these hopes. On Jan. 6, 2024, Smith shared a post to his Instagram which included text that mentioned Smith was initially offered the role of Neo in The Matrix, but instead chose to appear in Wild Wild West.

Everyone wants to have the biggest movie of the holiday season, and when the two titles doing battle are Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Mufasa: The Lion King, it’s bound to be a tight race. The novelty of Marvel Studios’ What If…? Animated series has worn off, thought that shouldn’t come a great surprise. The series’ third season is here and the reviews say it’s the worst batch of episodes yet. Marvel Studios first launched its animated anthology series What If…? on Disney Plus in 2021. The show adapted the comics anthology of the same name, providing a playground for “imaginary” stories based on Marvel Comics with no impact on the live-action MCU.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3is now in theaters, but this isn’t the only gift fans of the franchise are getting this holiday season. Box office predictions have started flowing in ahead of the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and surprisingly it seems that the blue blur is the fastest creature in all of the animal kingdom — at least in this very specific instance. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the latest release in the blockbusting franchise that’s gone a long way to redeeming the negative reception of video game adaptations.
