You would think that when we send our kids to school, they're going to be well taken care of and be safe in other peoples care. Sadly, at a Texas elementary school, there was an incident that left others scratching their heads. Look, I have three kids myself. I know how frustrating they can be at times, but under NO circumstances is it ok for someone else to do what this teacher did. The incident occurred at Pfluger Elementary School in Kyle, TX.

In a very interesting turn of events, the Texas Lottery is being accused of being vulnerable to money laundering. Yeah, raise your hand if that was on your 2025 bingo card. On the surface, it seems like it wouldn't exactly be the best way to launder money, but when a member of the Senate Finance Committee brought it up during a hearing, they gave an example of how money is more than likely laundered through the lottery.

One of the things that has always been hotly discussed in Texas is putting seatbelts in school buses. Over the last year, we've heard of several accidents that have happened including school busses in the state. Most recently, there was one right here in Amarillo where a bus got hit by a semi-truck. Thankfully, no one was severely hurt in that accident, but it did re-raise the concerns. Last March, however, there was a deadly accident in Bastrop County involving a bus and a concrete truck.

Texas has always been one of those states at the forefront of technological advances. We are a proud state that is all about being the first to try something or develop it. Austin has always had shades of Silicon Valley in it. I mean, Austin is the first city in Texas to test out driverless Uber, so you'd think this particular thing would be right up their alley. However it's not Austin that is at the forefront of this development. Remember when drones were introduced to the world?

Like it or not, the future is arriving in Texas. Whether you believe in the technology or not, it's here, and Austin is going to be the one to start testing it out. Personally? I'm not ready for it, and I'm not sure I trust it all just yet. However, I know there are plenty who do think it's solid enough to use, so if you're one of those people, this is going to excite you. Waymo is officially signing people up on their waitlist in Austin, and it's kind of a big deal.
