An old house in Sydney’s north end has become a place to call home for a group of international students who moved half a world away to start a new life in Canada. “(It’s) like a home away from home,” said Shine Shaji, housing manager at the Greg MacLeod House. The Greg MacLeod House serves as a residence for seven Cape Breton University international students at a time.

Two church choirs from California arrived in Cape Breton by cruise ship on Tuesday as part of a musical missionary tour along the East Coast. “The message that we’re hoping to spread is one of unity, togetherness at a time when many things are trying to pull people and communities apart,” said Aaron Burgett, director of choral worship at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, located north of San Diego.
