Around the new Weis Markets grocery store in Ijamsville, last-minute preparations continued Wednesday. A 19-year-old man faces assault and gun charges after police said he fired a gun into a Frederick home where children were having a sleepover, after a disagreement with his girlfriend. The organization techfrederick has received a $250,000 grant to help it increase its services. The grant through the Maryland Employment Advancement Right Now program will allow techfrederick to continue with training it provides, as well as diversify its offerings, Executive Director Meghan Sweigart said Monday. She said the group can continue its Aspire training, which helps people develop in-demand tech skills, develop within their careers, and improve the technology workforce in the region.

A project to repair a bridge on Md. 75 over Interstate 70 is finally complete, after three years of repairs.
