UMass transfer RB CJ Hester commits to Michigan

Massachusetts transfer running back CJ Hester has committed to Michigan. Hester was in Ann Arbor this weekend for a visit. As a sophomore, Hester spent the 2024 season at UMass under head coach Don Brown, prior to Brown's firing on Nov. 18, 2024. He played for Western Michigan as a true freshman under head coach Lance Taylor in 2023. Hester will have two years of eligibility remaining, with the option for a redshirt if needed.

Rising 2028 New Jersey athlete Phoenix Evans embarked on a Midwest swing to Michigan State and Michigan on his birthday on Tuesday. He then traveled to Notre Dame on Wednesday. Evans was also planning to take a trip to Northwestern on Wednesday, but he was unable to make it to Evanston. The Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, New Jersey) standout enjoyed his trips to the states of Michigan and Indiana and spoke with Rivals.com to recap each visit.

Houston defensive back Jeremiah Wilson intends to enter the transfer portal, he tells Rivals.com. Wilson played one season in Houston under head coach Willie Fritz in in 2024. Prior to that, he played for Syracuse and head coach Dino Babers in 2022 and 2023. Wilson is expected to have one year of eligibility remaining, with a redshirt option still available if needed as well. Wilson played in all 12 games for the Cougars in 2024, including starts in the final games.
Georgia OL Marques Easley will enter transfer portal

Georgia offensive lineman Marques Easley plans to enter the transfer portal. In March, Easley was suspended from all football activities indefinitely by Georgia head coach Kirby Smart after he crashed his car into an Athens apartment complex. Easley was charged with three counts of reckless conduct and one count of reckless driving, which are all misdemeanors. After appearing in two games and redshirting in 2024, Easley will have all four years of eligibility remaining.

In unsurprising news, former Texas A&M and Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson is officially back in the transfer portal. Hudson played his true freshman season with the Red Raiders under head coach Joey McGuire. However, after seeing limited playing time with Texas Tech, Hudson entered the transfer portal in December of 2024. He committed to Texas A&M on Dec. 15, 2024. However, his stint with the Aggies was short. Head coach Mike Elko confirmed in March that Hudson was no longer with the program.
Indiana transfer cornerback Jamier Johnson commits to UCLA

Former Indiana and Texas cornerback Jamier Johnson has committed to UCLA. It was reported in late January that Johnson was no longer with Indiana's football program. He officially entered the transfer portal on Feb. 3 and is expected to have one year of college eligibility remaining. After beginning his career at Texas and spending two seasons in Austin in 2021 and 2022 under head Steve Sarkisian, Johnson transferred to Indiana ahead of the 2023 season to play under head coach Tom Allen.
Michigan State 2026 QB commit Kayd Coffman impresses at Elite 11 Regional

Class of 2026 high-three-star Michigan State quarterback commit Kayd Coffman traveled to Ohio on Sunday to compete in an Elite 11 Regional event. Coffman impressed media members, coaches and spectators alike with his performance. However, Coffman ultimately didn’t receive the automatic invite to the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles. Only one participant earned the "Golden Ticket" to L.A., as four-star signal-caller and Louisville commit Briggs Cherry received the honor.
