Class of 2026 three-star athlete Markel Dabney plans to make the trek from Richmond, Virginia down to Dallas, Texas to play his college football, as the Huguenot High School standout committed to Southern Methodist University on Tuesday. Dabney ranks as the No. 18 prospect in the state of Virginia. He has pledged to head coach Rhett Lashlee, defensive coordinator/safeties coach Scott Symons, linebackers coach/co-defensive coordinator Maurice Crum Jr. and the rest of SMU's staff.

Class of 2026 high-three-star athlete Zahir Cobb is staying local, as he committed to Maryland on Monday. Cobb currently attends St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., which is approximately a 30-minute drive to the University of Maryland. College Park is also only about a 15-minute drive away from Cobb's home. He ranks as the No. 3 prospect in Washington, D.C. and the No. 23 athlete in the 2026 cycle. There were many aspects about the Terrapins that drew Cobb to pledge to Maryland.

Class of 2026 four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas has made his commitment decision. Thomas pledged to Ohio State on Monday at a ceremony at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. Thomas garnered more than 40 scholarship offers throughout his recruitment. He choose the Buckeyes over fellow finalists Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. He took unofficial visits to each of his finalists throughout the spring. He was most recently at Ohio State on April 6.
