It was my first week at my first job and I broke production. I also just started this job after wondering if I would even get a tech job given that I didn't get a return offer as an intern at Twitter. This is the story of how I went from that - to the youngest Senior Engineer at Gusto among 200+ engineers. Before we start... a quick glossary: I'll use FAANG leveling to describe the transitions. I started out as a junior engineer (L3) and was promoted to senior engineer (L5) after 2 promotions.
