Japanese mare Admire Terra has clinched a golden ticket into the 2025 Caulfield Cup following her victory in the Group 2 Meguro Kinen on Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) Day. Trained by Yasuo Tomomichi and owned by Junko Kondo, Admire Terra showcased class over 2500m, securing a ballot-exempt entry into October 18’s Group 1. The exemption opens up the possibility for Admire Terra to head Down Under, with Kondo previously having successfully campaigned during the Spring Carnival.

Flemington's New Year's Day race meeting will be switched to twilight on New Year's Eve as part of the 2025-26 race schedule released by Racing Victoria on Wednesday. The move of the Victoria Racing Club's traditional race meeting was the key eye-catcher in the schedule, which will also see Geelong, Cranbourne, Pakenham and Caulfield pick up extra meetings in the 2025-26 season once The Valley shuts its doors for its upgrade after Cox Plate Day in October.

Talented sprinter Briasa has secured a slot in The Everest, it has been announced. Team Hawkes confirmed their four-year-old son of Smart Missile had secured the slot held by Max Whitby, Steve McCann, Colin Madden & Neil Werrett. Briasa announced himself as one of the star sprinters in Australia when he won the T.J Smith Stakes over 1200m during Sydney's Autumn Carnival. He then stepped up to 1400m in the All-Aged Stakes and finished fourth behind Jimmysstar.

Hopefully the kid gets a game this week. Deserves it. Everyone always goes back to leg speed like it makes or breaks a player. The kid is a clearance beast. This teams lacks it more than it lacks legs.
