PITTSBURGH (BLACK & GOLD NATION) — If Aaron Rodgers is the new sheriff in town, that makes D.K. Metcalf his first deputy. He’s a 6-foot-4-inch 27-year-old all pro who may just be the best receiver to wear a Steelers uniform since Antonio Brown. “I like his whole personality and his approach and the way he is on the field, his professionalism,” said Rodgers of his new WR1. The Steelers traded for Metcalf this offseason and promptly signed him to a 5-year, $150 million extension.

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — We’re in the semifinals of the PIAA playoffs for baseball and softball, however only three local teams remain alive in their pursuit of hoisting a trophy. Bald Eagle softball rode the golden arm of Sierra Albright in the quarterfinals in a 4-1 win over Saint Marys. Albright threw a complete game while striking out seven and only allowing three hits. She also drove in the eventual game-winning run with an RBI single in the fourth inning.

CRESSON, Pa. (WTAJ) — Forest Hills defeated Huntingdon in a game that lasted two days 2-1 in 10 to win its first District VI Championship in eight years. The game began Tuesday night in the rain at Vets Field Baseball Park where the Rangers got off to a quick start when Chase Williamson put them on the board in the first inning with an RBI single. The score stayed that way until the fourth inning when Ethan Reck got the Bearcats on the board with an RBI single.
