Dear Action Line, I was driving around and noticed the Durango Police Department has Ford vehicles while the La Plata County Sheriff Office’s vehicles are adorned with a Chevrolet logo. Why is this? Would there be any benefits to using the same manufacturer such as bulk purchase pricing? – Signed, Vehicularly Curious Dear Vehicularly Curious, Your question brings to mind the 2019 film “Ford v Ferrari” starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

Keegan Swenson and Haley Batten won the 90-mile Sea Otter Gravel race Thursday in California. Swenson now heads into the lead of the Life Time Grand Prix, a series which he has won for three season straight. Batten is not a Grand Prix contender, so the series lead goes to second-place Villafane. Matt Beers hit the front early, leading out the first major descent into Fort Ord National Monument for the first of three 30-mile laps.

Dear Action Line, The medians and shoulders of our roads and highways are awash with rocks, gravel and other unsightly debris. What’s going on, and why can’t local agencies clear up all the detritus? While you’re at it, why has North College near J. Bo’s been unpaved for months now? – Sincerely, Rock and Roll Dear Rock and Roll, This week’s column (published every Sunday) is the closest Action Line will get to being able to write about April Fools’ Day.
