We’re all journalists here, so I will try to be a little more transparent than some other Substackers about how this newsletter is doing. A couple statistics from this month: 62,000 pageviews over the last 30 days. An open rate of 37%. And 3,900 subscribers. You might recall that we hit 3,000 subscribers about three months ago. What is your current job? I'm a US homepage editor at CNN, where I edit, curate and publish the homepages across web, mobile and app. This also involves handling push alerts and the occasional social post. What was your first byline? My first meaningful byline was in the University of Toronto's college paper, The Varsity. It stands out because it marks the time that I realized that science journalism could be a career.
