Eight-year-old Isabella Cramer took home a buckle at the "Let it Ride" cattle penning competition in Las Vegas last month, where she, her team, and her horse "Jeddy," topped the five class. Cattle penning is a game in which a team of contestants on horseback face off against 30 cows at one end of the arena. They are numbered zero to nine and there are three of each number. When the announcer calls "flag is up," a team of three riders head into the herd.

The Bearspaw Marina sits on a floating dock on the edge of the reservoir, a segment of the Bow River just outside northwest Calgary limits in Rocky View County. The business was installed last summer, renting out canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards to people to enjoy in and around the reservoir. Marina owner Rick Skauge has been a resident of the Bearspaw area for 30 years and thought opening up his land to share with others would be a positive for the community.

Tom Lipp will no longer be on the ballot as the Bow River riding's Christian Heritage Party (CHP) candidate in the upcoming federal election. Lipp confirmed on Monday morning, April 7, that Elections Canada had declared his candidacy "ineligible."He had been listed as the CHP's Bow River candidate since the announcement of the federal election and has run in the past two elections in 2021 and 2019.
