1 Introduction Regular respiratory monitoring is required in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and includes symptom review, sitting and/or supine spirometry with forced or slow vital capacity (FVC/SVC), peak cough flow (PCF), maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures (MIP/MEP), sniff nasal pressures (SNIP), arterial or venous blood gases, overnight oximetry, and polysomnography [1].
