Background: There is underrepresentation of racially and ethnically minoritized populations and limited evidence regarding the influence of patient race and ethnicity on shared decision making (SDM). SDM has been associated with improved patient outcomes and could improve cardiovascular care quality and reduce disparities. The aim of this study is to describe SDM in the hypertension management context in relation to blood pressure (BP) levels.
