It’s championed creatives from all over the world and focused on those in the Global South but outside of awards presentations and screenings the charity has shone a light on creators who have been doing amazing things through its BAFTA Breakthrough initiative. Dankwa was a Stage Manager for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, which propelled her career.

The play follows 3 school friends on the cusp of adulthood embroiled in the legend of Baitface, a tall tale who steals Black boys' faces. Narratively, we’re thrown back and forth throughout time, nothing quite makes sense at the start, but as the actors take their final bows, we’re given a “glimmer of hope at the end”.
