    St. Louis County and the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District, publicly known as Resource Renew, are working on a 10-year agreement that supporters say would benefit both parties. If approved, Resource Renew will dispose of municipal solid waste (MSW) at the Regional Landfill in Virginia starting in July 2026. On Tuesday, St. Louis County Commissioners approved the contract. The WLSSD Board is meeting on May 19 to discuss the matter.
