Smoky skies will persist through the night and for most of the day Monday. An Air Quality Alert is in effect for the entire state of Minnesota as well as the U.P. until 6 pm Monday. Widespread air quality issues are expected as more wildfire smoke enters the Northland tonight and tomorrow. Overnight lows will be in the 50s to low 60s. Monday will be hot, with highs mostly in the upper 80s. We could see a few record highs broken, particularly in Duluth and Hibbing.

After a pleasant day with wind off the lake keeping temperatures cooler and wildfire smoke at bay, conditions will change tomorrow. The Air Quality Index is expected to reach the “Red” level by Sunday afternoon, which is unhealthy for everyone.
