Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum Umara, Monday, announced the resettlement of 6,000 families displaced by Boko Haram insurgents. The families hailed from Dikwa and Mafa local government areas. Zulum disclosed this at Muna IDP camp, one of the largest with about 11,000 families taking refuge due to the over decade old crisis in Borno. Addressing journalists, Zulum reiterated that the resettlement became imperative due to the high-level of illicit activities in the camp.

At least 14 dead bodies of mourners were recovered with others sustained gunshots injuries when suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists invaded Kopl village, Chibok local government area of Borno state. Borno state governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Bunu Bukar FCNA as the new Accountant General of the state. In a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dauda Iliya, the appointment was in accordance with the powers conferred on the governor under Section 208, Subsection 2(c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

Borno state governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Tuesday,  hosted Northern Traditional Rulers Council for its 7th Executive Committee Meeting in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. The meeting aimed to tackle the rising insecurity plaguing northern Nigeria. The meeting with the theme: “Enhanced Security As Panacea For Stability and Development of the North,” was declared open by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was represented by Governor Zulum.

Borno state governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, Wednesday, presented working tools to 150 almajirai students trained in vocational skills by his administration. The training covered a variety of trades, including electrical installation and repair work, solar installation and repair work, leatherwork, welding, carpentry and building construction. The initiative also includes cash support to enable beneficiaries start their trades and contribute to the society’s development.
