By Sahar AkbarzaiRepublican incumbent Don Kelly beat Democratic challenger Anthony Johnson in the District Attorney race for the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit in Georgia. Kelly took a total of 51.77 percent of the vote, 58,047 votes, compared to Johnson who received 48.23 percent of the vote, 54 069 votes, according to election results from the Georgia Secretary of State website. Courier Eco Latino reached out to Kelly for comment following his victory.

Goddard was Solicitor General for the last 10 years in the county. Thomas, a private attorney, established his own law firm in 2006 and represented criminal defense and personal injury services to the Columbus, Georgia area, according to his law firm’s website, Shevon Sutcliffe Thomas & Associates.

By Sahar AkbarzaiIncumbent Democratic candidate Sanford Bishop Jr. has won his congressional district race in Georgia, beating Republican challenger Wayne Johnson. Bishop received 56.27 percent of the vote, 175,057 votes, and Johnson received 43.73 percent of the votes, 136,019 votes, according to election results on the website for the Georgia Secretary of State.
