Hopkins said Amazon will  “flatten” its structure and operate as two distinct film and TV studios. Courtenay Valenti will oversee film and Vernon Sanders will be in charge of TV, with both reporting to Hopkins.

    Source: The InformationYahoo has sold its tech publication TechCrunch to Regent, a media investment firm that owns other websites including PCWorld and Macworld. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. TechCrunch has had a number of owners over the years. Yahoo came to control the influential tech news outlet after Apollo Global Management, in 2021 bought media assets controlled by Verizon, which had merged early internet portals AOL and Yahoo. Previously, TechCrunch had been owned by AOL.

    Source: The InformationBuzzFeed revenue fell 20% to $56.2 million in the fourth quarter, driven by a 19% decline in advertising revenue and a 59% drop in its content revenue segment, which includes videos and other content the media company makes on behalf of advertisers. Commerce and other revenues were up 39%. BuzzFeed posted a net loss of $3.8 million during the quarter, compared to a net profit of $4.4 million during the same quarter in 2023.

    Source: The InformationComcast and the International Olympic Committee have signed a multi-year extension for NBCUniversal to exclusively air the Olympic games in the U.S. through 2036. The new deal, which the organizations said is valued at $3 billion, covers the 2034 Winter Olympics and the 2036 Summer Olympics. The deal also supersedes Comcast’s existing agreement with the IOC, which covered six Olympics from 2021 to 2032 and for which Comcast reportedly paid $7.75 billion.
