Ken Paxton is acquitted of impeachment as the Attorney General of Texas. The voting on the different articles seemingly going mostly along party lines. None of the articles achieved a simple majority of votes. Most were 14-16. . 4 articles remained without a written votes from the senators. Today the senators voted to dismiss the 4 charges that were pending, again, without a simple majority. This is Republican Party of Texas Statement on the Impeachment of Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Tonight (8-20-2023) from 7 - 10pm, ERCOT is asking you (and all Texans) to voluntarily conserve your electricity usage. Due to continued extraordinarily high temperatures and an unexpected loss of thermal generation, The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is asking all of us to respond to the continued high demand for electricity by using less power tonight. Turn up your thermostat a few degrees. Delay using your dishwasher for a few hours. Unplug electrical appliances while they are not in use.

"The have wanted this since they were 6 years old!" That's Needville (Fort Bend County) Little League Coach James "Andy" MacRae. He says that from the beginning of the team everyone concerned was aiming for the top: "And if you work hard enough, things happen." MacRae says the boys and their families are having a great time off the field as well - see the sights, being treated like celebrities - some are signing autographs - getting free stuff from vendors - and enjoying every second of it.

Fatal Crash in Cypress (TX) Area --- Golf Cart Involved!

They were out in a dark colored golf cart at 4:00 this morning. The intersection was dark. The oncoming SUV was a dark color as well. There was a crash involving the golf cart and the SUV in the Cypress. Harris County Deputies were on the scene. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez saying two of the three people who were on the golf cart died and the third person was hospitalized in critical condition; he died at the hospital. They were in their late 30s and early 40s.
La Porte Today: At Least 3 Water Main Breaks --- They're Working on Them!

La Porte Public Works crews are on the job right now. They are actively working to fix at least three water main breaks. The city's OEM (Office of Emergency Management) saying that as crews are working, there's a chance your home could be out of water. Some areas may need to have their water shut off temporarily. They ask you, if your home's water is shut off, to please call the city [281-471-3811] and report your outage and give your address.

"Any parent can tell you that it's one of the most stressful times of the year --- and it's causing an awful lot of stress with family people around the country!" It's so important to a child's school success - and so expensive that credit cards are often pulled out.
