    If you’re like me and grew up in the 90’s then there’s no doubt that you’ll have had an old Windows PC. The giant behemoth that was home to such memorable iconography like the rolling green hills screensaver or Clippy, the paperclip that never left you alone. Those days are filled with nostalgia that I sometimes find myself oddly wanting to revisit, and now with Desktop Survivors 98 I can relive those memories – albeit not as chaotic as I remember.

However, turn based games have been quite popular in the mainstream thanks to games such as the two South Park titles and most recently Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Pengonauts are the latest developers to add to the turn based genre with their newest game: StarVaders.

    Video game developers are always looking for new and exciting ways to evolve a genre. Whether this is with new and interesting mechanics or a vastly unique open world that is unlike anything that has come before. The horror game genre is no different to this sentiment. There are a lot of exciting features and mechanics that developers have introduced that have changed the genre for better or worse. Out of Sight is the latest horror game to incorporate something new to the genre.

    From the offset, Out of Sight may look similar to other titles such as Little Nightmares or Inside. A girl trying to escape a spooky house with Tim Burtonesque adults chasing her down, however, the game provides a unique perspective to the formula – literally. Developers The Gang has coined Out of Sight as being the first second person game. A bold claim to be sure, but after spending an hour in the game’s world and learning the mechanics this is definitely a game that shouldn’t be skipped.
