    Former NFL and Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett tragically died on June 27, 2023, at the age of 35. He drowned while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. Mallett was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being transported from the beach. Mallett played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was a two-year starter and led the Razorbacks to an SEC championship game appearance in 2011.
