Runners, walkers, cyclists and scooters can now go 6.7 continuous miles on the Atlanta Beltline – the longest stretch completed so far – with the opening of a new segment of the Westside Trail this week. Beltline users can travel on an uninterrupted paved trail from the Pittsburgh neighborhood to Blandtown, linking downtown to the west side, with the completion of the new 1.3-mile segment.

The Georgia Supreme Court invalidated four of seven controversial rules passed by the Georgia State Election Board in the weeks before the 2024 election. Among the rules struck down Tuesday by the state high court: two measures that critics argued could result in local election board members refusing to certify election results and another that mandated hand counting the number of ballots after the close of polls.
