Mina Smallman, speaking on Desert Island Discs, said she was "celebrating" when the constables were imprisoned, adding that "hidden pockets of filth" had been allowed to flourish within the force.

Tommy Robinson has admitted committing contempt of court by repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee, in breach of an injunction. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, admitted breaching the High Court order made in 2021 as he appeared at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday. Those who commit contempt of court can be jailed for up to two years, fined, or both.

The Royal Mint has confirmed that a 50p coin featuring the Atlantic Salmon and bearing the King’s portrait is the rarest in circulation. This coin has dethroned the "highly collectable" 2009 Kew Gardens 50p from the top spot for the first time in 15 years, according to the official maker of British coins. Only 200,000 of these Atlantic Salmon 50ps have been distributed to UK banks and post offices, which is 10,000 less than the 2009 Kew Gardens coin.

Four more boys, including a 12-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of the rape of a teenage girl in Newark. Nottinghamshire Police received a report that a teenage girl had been attacked on Yorke Drive playing fields, Nottinghamshire, between 5.30pm and 7pm on May 25. A boy aged 12, a 13-year-old, and two boys aged 14 have all been arrested on suspicion of rape, police said. They have all been released on bail with strict conditions.

Joel Cauchi, 40, from Queensland, posted on Facebook in December 2020 looking for gun owners he “could get to know” and had profiles on multiple male escort websites.
