I have been looking at the direct goal involvements (goals and assists) by Newcastle United players this season. How they have been shared around. In total, 131 direct goal involvements by Newcastle United players so far this 2024/25 season across the three domestic competitions. There have been 19 different members of the NUFC squad who have contributed at least one direct goal involvement.

It just didn’t feel right. Yes, I know it was for the greater good but…Anyway, we are back to normality. Once again, desperate to see Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Arsenal getting hammered. Last night’s 3-0 win for Arsenal over Real Madrid meant that the fifth Champions League place was confirmed (see below), now up for grabs to Newcastle United and whoever else. The extra place due to how English clubs have performed in Europe so far this season.

It is now 21 months ago since we found out that Sandro Tonali had signed for Newcastle United. The Italy international agreeing to move to St James’ Park from the San Siro in early July 2023. Nobody can claim that the first season after moving to Tyneside was easy for Sandro Tonali, nor for Newcastle United. Within three months of signing we discovered that the star summer signing was under investigation for gambling on football matches, whilst playing for AC Milan.

A lot has been said about the Newcastle United victory parade and the Town Moor event. A lot of talk before, during and after Saturday’s celebrations. A few things were very different compared to any Newcastle United victory parade of the past. For starters, the photos and footage of this 2025 one are in colour!Back in 1969 for the Fairs Cup, the FA Cup victories of the 1950s and whatever else before that, it was very much a black and white world.
