    A man in his 30s has been arrested after an alleged stabbing homicide at a home in Sydney that police have described as "gruesome" and believe is linked to a drug deal gone wrong. Authorities found the dead man, thought to be in his 50s, with stab wounds at a residence in Croydon Park just after 5pm on Monday, police said in a statement. Police were called to the residence following a concern for welfare report.

Two men were arrested and accused of stealing property in separate incidents during the flood clean-up on the state’s Mid-North Coast. A 20-year-old man was stopped by NSW Police on Pulteney St in Taree about 8.40pm on Sunday.
