The Emory University Student Center (ESC) hosted a celebration on Oct. 1 celebrating former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday. The event focused on Carter’s legacy as president, his leadership of The Carter Center and his contributions to the state of Georgia. Students, faculty and staff attended the event, which also featured food, live music and tabling by various service and civic-oriented student organizations.

Tackle Up, a recently opened fishing apparel store in Bethany Beach, has been well received by locals and visitors alike. Since opening full-time on Memorial Day weekend, owners Frank DiGregorio Jr. and Matt Haney have enjoyed watching their company grow. Many local stores have a wide variety of fishing implements, such as rods and lures, but few offer a full range of clothing needed to stay safe during a full day of fishing.
