Report: Israeli delegation led by Shin Bet chief heading to Cairo on Thursday for hostage-ceasefire talks An Israeli delegation headed by Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar will arrive in Cairo tomorrow for talks on a potential hostage-ceasefire deal, al-Araby al-Jadeed newspaper reports. The Qatari-owned, London-based outlet says the Israeli delegation will include “a special envoy” from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. No further details are given.

Likud MK Yuli Edelstein, the chairman of the powerful Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, declared on Monday that he will not support the so-called Daycare Law being pushed by the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party. “Israel has been at war for more than a year” and leaders are “obligated to make every effort to provide the IDF with additional soldiers,” Edelstein said in a video statement sent to the press.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly ordered that a “solution” be found for Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara’s “adversarial” relationship with his government, as ministers railed against her office and called for her ouster Monday. The Prime Minister’s Office later appeared to walk back the comments amid fears they might violate Netanyahu’s agreement to abstain from top legal appointments while he is on trial for corruption.
