Erickson also earned the win on the mound, striking out eight batters in four innings.

    Osakis’ Leah Maddock wrapped up her 2025 season by tying for 13th at the Section 6-2A Tournament at the Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell. Maddock finished with a two-day total of 139 (31-over par) over the course of the 27-hole tournament. Maddock had six pars in the tournament, which ran from June 2-3. Osakis competed as a team on day one of the tournament, finishing with a score of 206 and not making the cut for day two.

    Colorado State senior Mya Lesnar didn’t waste much time competing in the women's shot put at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Prelims on Friday, May 29, 2025, in College Station, Texas. On her first shot put attempt, Lesnar, an Alexandria alum, finished with a throw of 18.50 meters. No one else surpassed 18 meters, as Lesnar went on to win the NCAA West Prelims and advance to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

    The Alexandria Redbirds, a 50+ amateur baseball team, started its 2025 season with a pair of dominant wins on the road in Mounds View in a Sunday doubleheader against the Twin Cities Silver Snappers. The Redbirds won both games 12-1, despite missing players such as Lee Skykora, Greg Serum, Doug Breitkreutz, Roger Johnson, Chad Moritz, and Rob Nigg due to injury or conflict. Jerrod Kelley earned the win on the mound in game one for the Redbirds, striking out a pair of batters.

    ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Classic Clippers, a 35+ senior men’s amateur baseball team, are the defending Minnesota Senior Men’s Amateur Baseball Association state champions and had hopes of starting the 2025 season 1-0 with a win at home over the Fergus Falls RiverDogs on Friday, May 31. The Classic Clippers accomplished this goal with standout pitching and defense in a 5-0 win at Knute Nelson Memorial Park in Alexandria.
