Growing up in in the 1970s and 80s, the of Helen GA seemed more like a sleepy than the bustling tourism hotspot it has become today. In those days, the biggest draw for visitors was the near Helen GA, especially Unicoi State Park. Home to , Smith Lake (a.k.a. Unicoi Lake), and several fantastic , Unicoi was a haven for camping in Helen GA. And it remains our favorite campground in Helen today.
