petsHoboken residents know that the Mile Square is one of the most dog-friendly areas in the Garden State. Just this morning, we rounded up over 50 dog-friendly businesses in town. To add to the local pet scene, a Hoboken-based dog grooming and pet care business is expanding its presence. Luv K9, which opened up on Washington Street just a few months back, will be opening a second Hoboken location at 614 Jefferson Street.

updatesAlmost ten months after a sinkhole opened up and was repaired on the Hoboken waterfront along Sinatra Drive, the City has announced plans to start reconstructing the area after the discovery of significant erosion of the concrete seawall. Starting April 10th, the Waterfront Reconstruction Project in Hoboken will be in full swing — with the eastern lane of Sinatra Drive from approximately Fifth Street to Sinatra Drive North closing 24/7 throughout the duration of the project.

On Wednesday, April 2nd, the Hoboken City Council unanimously passed a new rent control ordinance in Hoboken that aims to increase transparency and protect tenants. Under the new law, Hoboken landlords who are increasing rent by more than 10% must disclose certain information with tenants — including an itemized breakdown of costs associated with the increase, among other things.
