AV azygos vein ICA intercostal artery MAC microvascular anastomotic coupler TD thoracic duct 1 INTRODUCTION Idiopathic chylothorax in cats is an uncommon but serious condition that results in the accumulation of chylous lymphatic fluid within the thoracic cavity.1 The etiology has yet to be identified but is thought to occur due to pathology of the terminal branch(es) of the thoracic duct (TD) that disrupts the normal flow of chyle into the cranial vena cava.
