Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) will offer a faculty and staff discount at both dining centers every Friday during the spring 2025 semester beginning January 17. This discount, previously offered only in October and February, has been extended to the entire semester for faculty and staff to enjoy. Visit Watterson Dining Commons or Marketplace at Linkins to enjoy all-you-care-to-eat lunch or dinner for $9.50.

Peach Pit is coming to Braden Auditorium on Tuesday, September 24 at 7 p.m. in celebration of Illinois State University’s Homecoming. Tickets are $30 and $20 and will go on sale to Illinois State students, faculty, staff, and the public on Wednesday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com or at the Braden Box Office, located in the Bone Student Center, 200 North University Street in Normal.

Logan Henderson from Big Time Rush is coming to Illinois State University on Thursday, November 9. Tickets to “An Evening with Logan Henderson” include a moderated question-and-answer session followed by two to three acoustic songs. Ticket prices are $20 for general admission and $35 for the PIT including a meet and greet.

To celebrate Homecoming, Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) will offer faculty and staff discounts at both dining centers every Friday in October. Visit Watterson Dining Commons or the Marketplace at Linkins to enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat lunch for $8.10 or dinner for $9.60. Dinner price begins at 4:30 p.m. Faculty and staff must present an Illinois State University ID to receive the discount. View daily menus ahead of time through NetNutrition on the dining website.

Over the summer, Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) worked on many updates preparing for students to return to campus. Here are some updates on dining at Illinois State University for the fall 2023 semester. Watterson Dining Commons has completed phase two of renovations, and the fully renovated dining center reopened for the fall on Monday, August 14.

Here is what is open this summer on-campus:Bone Student Center At the Bone Student Center, McAlister’s, Starbucks, and The Landing are open this summer. McAlister’s is a campus favorite offering delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, baked potatoes, tea, and lemonade. The Starbucks offers drink and snack options.

The Great DuBois will perform their two-person circus act during Family Weekend at Illinois State University. Michael DuBois and Viktoria Grimmy put on a circus show for all ages featuring juggling, hula hoops, unicycles, aerial acts, circus stunts, magic, and audience interaction. The husband-wife duo’s high energy, fast-paced show will take stage on Friday, September 22, at 8 p.m. in Braden Auditorium at the Bone Student Center.

The 2023 Fear the Bird shirt design is here. The 17-year tradition began in 2007 as a joint initiative between the Division of Student Affairs and the Illinois State University (ISU) bookstore at the Bone Student Center. The purpose of Fear the Bird is to promote Redbird spirit and bring students to the Bone Student Center. The shirt design changes each year always featuring Reggie the Redbird. University Marketing and Communications (UMC) originally created the yearly design.

Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality (EMDH) connected with over 200 students, faculty, staff, and community members at Nutri-Fest 2023 in the Bone Student Center on Thursday, May 4. Nutri-Fest is an annual, free event helping people better understand nutrition and healthy eating.
