Ron Woodbridge, the original lead vocalist of the British music group The Searchers, passed away recently. Woodbridge’s former bandmate Mike Pender confirmed the news. “I was saddened to learn of the passing of Ron Woodbridge,” Pender wrote on his website. “Ron was with me the day we watched John Wayne give us the unforgettable name still famous today!”Pender was notably referencing the 1956 film The Searchers, which inspired the band’s name.

Francisco Cuoco, a soap opera legend who is best known for his roles on Selva de Pedra and O Astro, passed away on Jun. 19 at the age of 91. According to Folha De S.Paulo, the Brazilian actor died of multiple organ failure after being hospitalized for 20 days at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo. He had struggled with multiple health issues in recent years and was living with his sister, Grácia, before his death. Born in 1933, Cuoco began acting in 1957.

Steve Leckie, the founding member of Canadian punk rock band The Viletones, passed away earlier this month after struggling with numerous health issues. He was 67 years old. According to A Journal of Musical Things, Leckie had been struggling with multiple sclerosis (MS) and lung cancer at the time of his death. He had been fighting the cancer since 2023. Steve’s ex-wife, Lorraine Leckie, also confirmed the news about his passing in a post on Facebook.

A beloved actor is expected to return to the big screen for the long-awaited sequel of the cult classic Spaceballs.
