The entrance of a home serves as an introduction to its soul, offering a glimpse of the stories that dwell within. In this 10,000-square-foot home in Coimbatore, envisioned by Farah Agarwal, founder & principal designer of Chestnut Storeys, with project lead Priyamvadha Mohan, the entrance speaks with intention. The brief was clear—a contemporary Indian home that favoured harmony over ostentation. Each space is an embodiment of this vision, enhanced by eclectic touches that break the monotony.

The early aughts were a special time for AD100 architect Kanan Modi. In 2006, she and her husband became first-time homeowners. Three years later, she sowed the seeds for her architecture and interior design studio. And sometime in the years before and after, she became a mother not once but twice. Those experiences were special all on their own, of course, but what made them even sweeter was that they were all in one way threaded together.
