If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Are you a loyal Minnesota fan, or would you venture off to a new place? Somewhere warm year-round? A cabin in the mountains? Maybe a place with palm trees and an ocean breeze? I used to daydream about living in Hawaii, and for years, my husband and I tossed around the idea of moving once we’re empty nesters. But the closer we get to that chapter, the more we realize, we actually really love it here.

They're part of 87 total counties that make up the North Star State, but these four counties lack one of the most Minnesota things ever. As we've all heard a gazillion times already, Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes. I mean, that slogan is right there on our license plates, right?

Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but it's also apparently known for having some naughty-sounding names for certain cities and towns. Every state, from Minnesota here in the north to Louisiana down south and from New York on the east coast to California in the west, is filled with tons of unique city and town names. Many of these also contain special and unique pronunciations that you only know how to say if you were born there-- or have lived there for a while.
