A vegetable garden anchors my biorhythm. Probably because it’s tied to the sun, the moon, and the stars; the seasons and the soil; and family, fauna, and neighbors who look through or over the fence to see what’s growing. It’s an oasis in my urban ecosystem and the governor over my brain when crackling overactivity piles up. Many times, the garden is the best medicine for what ails me. It nourishes and calms my nerves and stretches and sooths my sinews. Muscles and mind benefit too.
