President Ferdinand Marcos signed a new law professionalizing child development teachers (CDT) and child development workers (CDW), as well as giving incentives to private companies that will provide support to child development centers (CDC). Under the 18-page Republic Act (RA) No. 12199, those who can qualify for CDT must be a holder of any bachelor’s degree, preferably with units in early childhood education and have passed the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).

Tagbilaran Bishop Alberto “Abet” Uy called on all candidates in the 2025 National and Local Midterm Elections to properly dispose of their election materials. “To the winners of the elections, we respectfully ask you to collect and properly dispose of your campaign tarps,” Bishop Uy said in an interview with the Radyo Veritas. The prelate also extended the request to the losing candidates by saying they can prove their integrity by helping in the cleaning process.

President Ferdinand Marcos signed a law amending Republic Act (RA) No. 11235 “Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act,” which significantly relaxed sanctions for riders of motorcycles without a number plate or readable plate by reducing the laws fines and removing imprisonment penalties. RA 11235 was enacted in 2018 to help prevent motorcycles from being used in criminal activities.
