Tuesday night at BC Place, the Canadian Men’s National Team opened their Concacaf Gold Cup campaign with a resounding 6-0 win over Honduras. The evolution of this national team over the past 5 years has been pretty dramatic. That goes without saying for almost anyone who has followed the game in this country over that period, and this match at BC Place was a reminder of that shift.

Welcome back, everyone. The Vancouver Whitecaps are on the road this weekend in Ohio, for a rare matchup with the Columbus Crew. This is the first time Vancouver has faced Nancy's Crew, so it should be a good test, even though both teams are missing some of their top contributors.

This is the first time Vancouver has faced Nancy’s Crew, so it should be a good test, even though both teams are missing some of their top contributors. In terms of squad availability, Vancouver is still without their American and Canadian National Team players, though Andres Cubas, Pedro Vite, Tate Johnson and Giuseppe Bovalina have all returned. Ryan Gauld remains out.

Skip to content Welcome back, everyone. Assuming this match goes ahead, it will be a weird one for Vancouver. After the Cup Final defeat in Mexico, the Whitecaps are facing an unprecedented challenge, as they have 10+ players unavailable through a combination of international duty and food poisoning. Who will be available? Honestly, it's really hard to say. Match Preview: A Scheduling Calamity Ok, without further delay, here are the rules and standings (updates are still a work in progress).

Alright, buckle up. This one won’t be pretty. The Vancouver Whitecaps suffered a humiliating defeat in the Concacaf Champions Cup Final on Sunday night in Mexico City by a score of 5-0. In a match where the Whitecaps were second-best for the full 90 minutes, it will be hard to find many silver linings or positive player ratings, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Yohei Takaoka – 4.5Usually in a match where five goals are conceded, the goalkeeper is to blame for one or two of them.
