Leukemia and LymphomaPatients with AML may benefit from CXCR4-directed molecular imaging because of the origin of this disease in the protective BM niche, along with the antileukemia effects of CXCR4 antagonists (56,57). Herhaus et al. first investigated the primary blasts of patients and reported on an association of blast counts with CXCR4 upregulation using flow cytometry.
