A Colorado family lost their home to a fire Aug. 14, but their lives were saved when the family dog reportedly alerted them to the danger. The dog did not make it. Suzanne Elkins and her husband, Victor, told 9NEWS their family home and dog were gone. They were able to escape the massive fire thanks to their beloved dog, Cuddles, who was found under a bed a few days later. “Sound asleep,” Elkins, from Jefferson County, reportedly said.

A 15-year-old boy passed away Monday night during football practice in Hopewell, Virginia, according to multiple reports. Hopewell High School remembered Jayvion Taylor, a 10th grader, Tuesday after he suffered a heart attack during junior varsity football practice, CBS 6 reported. The team was about 40 minutes into practice and performing light drills before Taylor collapsed near his coach.

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman received a standing ovation Monday night at Dodger Stadium. The eight-time all star return to the lineup for the first time since July 26 as he was tending to the health of his son, Maximus. The Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 5 to 3, furthering their dominance in the National League West. However, the best part of the game occurred when Freeman stepped up to the plate for the first time in several games.

A small airplane was forced to make a crash landing Sunday afternoon on a golf course in Sacramento, California, narrowly missing a golfer. The Sacramento Fire Department said it responded to a report of a crash landing at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex around 1:00 p.m., according to KCRA 3. No one was severely injured, except for the pilot who reportedly walked away with a minor cut on his hand. Security footage from several angles shows the crash landing.

Christians and followers of Jesus worldwide were outraged following the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony for the depiction of The Last Supper performed by half-dressed drag queens and a child. Christian sports viewers were pleased to see a skateboarder and Olympian praising Jesus in a respectful, glorifying manner.
