It was chilly, but it did not stop 40 Arkansas National Guard soldiers from Camp Robinson who helped United States Daughters of 1812 and others place wreaths on the graves of unknown service members at the Little Rock National Cemetery on Dec. 3. The Baseline-Meridian Chapter of the USD 1812, the Simon Bradford (Pine Bluff) Chapter of U.S.D. 1812 and other volunteers placed wreaths during the Christmas Wreaths for Heroes event. USD 1812 also gave the Guardsmen “thank you” cards.

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas will host Potpourri: Spirit of the Ages gala from 6-11 p.m. Dec. 7 at The ARTSpace on Main, 623 S. Main St.Tickets are available now for Potpourri, ASC's fundraising gala. ASC and The ARTSpace are part of the ARTx3 Campus. ASC's longest-running fundraiser helps sustain the museum's free gallery admission and programming, according to a news release.

PB native finalist for Austin Under 40Kynan Dancy, a Pine Bluff native, has been named a finalist for the Austin Texas Under 40 Awards. Winners will be announced June 1 at the 25th annual awards gala and fundraiser at the JW Marriott at Austin, according to a news release. Born and raised in Pine Bluff, Dancy works in banking and finance. He was nominated for Austin Texas Under 40 Awards in the People and Operations category.

Master Gardener plant sales are happening all around the state, offering home gardeners a wide assortment of annuals, perennials, pollinators, herbs, vegetables and more. A word of advice though: Arrive early. At a recent sale at the Pulaski County Master Gardeners greenhouse in Little Rock, customers lined up well before the 8 a.m. start time for the two-day sale.
